Exclusion
Teachers understand that every learner brings unique and diverse experiences, needs, abilities and strengths to their learning, and that teaching must be flexible and responsive. They understand the importance of identity, language and culture—knowing where learners come from and building on all that they bring with them to their learning.
Exclusion explores how in Aotearoa New Zealand, the dominant Eurocentric culture means that in some settings, the values and culture of the learning environment can exclude indigenous and minority learners. |
