Low Expectations
Teachers have a strong influence on learners and their understanding of the world. As such, it is crucial that bias and personal beliefs do not negatively interfere with the quality and effectiveness of teaching. Our Code: Examples in Practice recognises the importance of promoting a culture of high expectations for all learners, which relate to their interests, needs and goals, and providing challenges that stretch learning.
Low expectations explores implicit bias and how this can influence teacher expectations for learners. |
